Growing Scallions

Just decided to experiment growing scallions a few days ago. I had no idea it will work or not and my husband was very doubtful and discouraging. I proceed with my idea anyway.  I clip off the tips of the scallions (all of them still have roots) stuck them in the dirt ....... lo and behold they are growing.  They will be transplant to the vegetable garden.

The scallions were transplanted into the garden.  Ha Ha Hubby!

The scallions are doing very good.  Very soon we will be eating them.

Eat raw with salad or put them in my Ginger Chicken or potatoes hash.

Do you have a compost heap.

What about growing parsley? I now eat parsley. I used it called it 'smelly vegetable".

We have a compost bin but it is not doing good. We do not have enough green material. I have a parsley in a pot. It is not the smelly kind. I mix them in Mayonaise

What kind of fertilizer do you use. Your greens are doing so well.

We bought two truck loads of compost from a landscape company and amend the soil.
